Packaged platforms now carry a large share of the processes that used to run on custom software. The work is less about writing applications from scratch and more about configuring a platform properly, integrating it with everything around it, and keeping the customisation under control.

Configuration before customisation

Heavy customisation is what makes packaged platforms expensive to upgrade and difficult to support. Our default is to meet a requirement through configuration and integration first, and to treat custom code as a decision that needs justifying and documenting. Where earlier customisation already exists, we can assess what it costs you to keep.
